Best place in Thailand to do the PADI in October?

Hi all!
New to this forum, hi to everyone.
I am going second week of October to Thailand to do the PADI certification. It is rainy season and therefore I guess the weather will be unstable pretty much everywhere. I was wondering if you guys knew where in Thailand I had a better chance not to get drawn. I heard I should avoid the East Coast. Was thinking of going to Koh Samui. Any tips??? I happen to be in Thailand right now. There is a place down the street called Larry's dive shop. I think the website is www.larrysscuba.com or something like that.

It mentioned something about one coast being open all year regardless of weather.

It's only raining on the east coast. You should be fine on the west. Phuket or Phi Phi will be entering into their dive season during the fall. If you have your heart set on Koh Tao or Koh Samui, it's a crap shoot. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's so bad the ferries don't run.
