This July we will have 5 nights on Moorea and then an 11 night cruise. The cruise stops for one day each on Huahaine, Aitutaki and Rorontonga and two days on Bora Bora and then 2 days on Moorea.

I am a recreational diver and would like to do some dives during this trip. My thought is to do the bulk of the dives on Moorea as we will have the most time there. Does anyone have any expertise as to if I defer diving at the other islands and snorkel instead with my wife if I will be missing anything that can only be seen there. I don't want to spend the entire trip underwater without my wife but I also don't want to miss anything critical underwater as this may be a once in a lifetime trip.

Thanks

The Moorea shark snorkel was my first "shark excursion" . I was there with wife and her family. None were divers although we did a hooka walk too. We also saw a ton of blacktip sharks in the cut near where they do the sting ray feed. I snorkeled every day possible and in talking with divers I think I saw pretty much what they saw. Tahiti is not one of the "destination spots" for divers. Now that I dive it is not on my buckt list for a return. Give me Palau or the red sea. That said the snorkeling was terrific and everyone of our group absolutely loved the shark snorkel.
