So Ive been reading up on how Moon Phases affect night diving, coral spawning, bioluminescence etc. trying to figure out when the best time to night dive is for seeing just general increased marine activity, and bioluminescence. Anyone care to comment on when the best time to night dive is?

From what Ive gathered (is this correct?):

Full moon diving- little need for dive light, decent fish / larger marine life activity?
3-5 days after Full moon diving - Coral spawn, decent fish / larger marine life activity?
New moon diving- best bioluminescence visibility, good macro activity?

We're specifically planning a trip to Belize, so Im trying to time it to catch the bioluminescence, but also decent general marine activity at night.

I did amazing night dive in caye caulker. Full moon we didn't use any dive light. I do remember to have seen bioluminescence species out there but could not recall exactly what is was. Maybe the size of a shrimps and some
kind of some warms.
