Hi Scubaboard,

Bit of a cross post from my post in another forum...here's the challenge: help me (AOW, ~120 dives) and my girlfriend (OW, ~50 dives) pick which Maldives liveaboard to do in May 2020 (around 5/1 to 5/10 specifically). :)

We're from the US, but live in Singapore, and have loved diving around Asia (Sipadan, Komodo, Similans, etc.).

I'd love something a bit more adventurous/off the beaten path. I'm thinking drift dives, sharks/big pelagics (wouldn't mind a wreck). Fuvahmulah sounds amazing, but seems like it's not included in many liveaboard itineraries yet.

What are your best tips for that time period?

Gonna piggyback here and watch. Looks like this is the start of the ``low season'' and ``rainy season'' but still great diving. But also fits the window for my next trip.

Just an FYI that if you are interested in the Deep South (meaning Fuvahmulah etc) there are many liveaboards that do the route but they only go during the limited inter-monsoon season which is February/March. I am heading there first week of March 2020 and happy to share my experiences with the region and the LOB. I picked my LOB from a small list of operators that do not participate in baited dives in Fuva since that was important to me.
Also just a note that many LOB going to the deep south require a minimum of 100 logged dives to go.

I've been a couple of times in May. It wasn't that rainy, though you can be unlucky and get heavy thunderstorms at any time of the year there.
