what are the best fins for under water detecting?

i bought them used with a bunch of stuff ,they seem to be a size to big .my cert instructor told be they are power fins for swimming.i need a fin that i can stay in a areafor a while to work when i'm netural.

If you don't want to move, how about you don't kick?

A frog kick would help and tends to work better with regular fins over splits. You can do a frog kick with splits though.

Look into Jet fins.

Or for that matter, OMS Slipstreams, Aqualung Rockets, & XS Turtles.

All traditional paddle style fins.
