Going To St Maarten In June And Was Wanting To Know What The Best Dives Are There. We Are Looking To Dive 3-4 Days. We Are Doing The Shark Dive. Any Other Suggestions Would Be Appreciated Or Anything To Stay Away From!

Good question! Looking for the same info!

My family goes to St. Maarten every year. Where are you staying Dutch or French? I would definetly get over to saba (it is not a bad ride by speedboat). I would highly recommend Dive Safaris in Phillipsburg.

IMO the diving at St. Maarten isn't that great... take a short trip over to Saba!

...........Oh, wait, that is not diving. The prettiest beach in the world in more ways than one.

Good Diving,

Dave

Just got back from st martin and saba. We did 4 dives in st martin and 4 dives in saba. I enjoyed both islands for diving just as much. Can not give you any names of sites but the diving in st martin is good. Found a lot of life, but very little coral compared to saba. Saba is very green, st martin is not. I enjoyed the tug boat in st martin, we saw black tip sharks and baracudas.

check out my site for pictures of both islands.

I dove with ocean explorers and a guy named jesus. If you ask ocean explorers for jesus number, they will give it to you. small Private boat for $100 for 2 dives with tanks and weights. nice guys. awful ladder on the boat.

Like a lot of the others have said Saba is Great. I would consider it a must do trip. You can get there by boat or plane. The boat cost less and it's about a 45 minute crossing as I recall but you can get in 2 dives pretty easy.

We made 2 trips to Saba on back-to-back days and wish we'd spend a night or two on the island instead. If you dive Diamond Rock, right at the botton stick your fingers a few inches deep in the sand and feel the heat. Go see for yourself to find out why it's hot.

We dove with SabaDeep. That was about 3 years ago. If Big Mike and Little Mike are still there that's a plus for SabaDeep. Big Mike is the DM and he makes it feel like a "party" he loves it so much. I think there are only two operators on the island. The other is SabaDiving or DiveSaba.
