I didn't see any posts on this subject. What is the best harness? Dive Rite, Transplate, OMS, DUI, other? Basic? Shoulder pads, Hog style. What does every one like? Can you have two many "D" rings. Quick releases?

I always recommend a basic Hogarthian Harness. Total of 5 drings, no pads, no QR's simple, inexpensive and streamlined.

Tobin

Hog - 13ft of black webbing, a handful of D-rings, a few bits of used bicycle innertube, and you're good to go!

Save yourself a bunch of time and money. Call Tobin, tell him what you needs are and then buy what he says. Simple as a hog harness:)

Ok, the lone wolf here, I love my DR delux all riddled up with those points of failure that are not for the faint of heart.

I would think it would depend on your type of diving and what ever is comfy for you. Going tec or hanging 100 bottles off you? Yep, hog probably. Simple warm water rec diver....deluxe is fine.

Best of luck.

Hog harness. One thing I don't understand is why people think they are difficult to get in and out of? To me they are easier than the jacket style bc with the "quick" releases I used to use. I don't use a scooter so I saw no need for the crotch strap, so I took it off. All I have to do is put my arms through the shoulder straps and fasten the waist buckle. Pretty complicated.

Later, Hawk.
