Oh.

I am a cow scientist, so to me, AI=artificial insemination. So you can see why I am relieved to hear that you are talking about all-inclusive.
My sister-n-law owns horses... one time she had to run downtown Portland to pick up a "package" to Artificallly Inseminate one of her mares. This just happened to coincide with the time of year that the Navy & Coast Guard sails into town for the Rose Festival.

Ever since then I ask her if she's been down to the waterfront lately to pick up any seamen...

I know exactly what you are talking about concerning the Rose Festival. That is too funny.

The only complaint was the food was sub par. They tried hard but just wasn't very tasty.

The Reef Club had very good food, including a buffet, two restaurants (by reservation) and a pizza/nacho bar. However, it is all-inclusive and you may end up not eating there. The prices are sometimes so good it is worth it for sure!

They do allow boats to pick you up at the dock, but they aren't allowed to just sit there. DWM shoudl be able to meet you at a certain time and just pick you up. I dove with EDDS and they were always allowed to come get us.

Also, the Reef Club has some REALLY great rooms. Very clean with tile floor. The only negative is the hard-sell vacation timeshares they offer. I just ognored them and did not look at anything they offered.

Hope it helps!!

My list in order of best to worst:
1. Iberostar
2. Hotel Cozumel
3. Reef Club

After March will be able to rank Occidental Grand

Hmmmm, I guess you're right. And those Germans, with their "Achtung!" Don't you just hate those guys? And Jews, with their minoras and silly little caps, whatta bunch of jerks! Oh, and Mexicans, they are all so lazy; how do they ever get anything done? And white people, didja ever see white guys try to dance? Am I leaving anybody out?

The shame is, in my opinion, that some folks see people of a particular group acting like jerks, and then try to pass off a generalization that all members of that group are jerks as somehow the fault of the group itself.

I'm done with this. My apologies for the tangent.

You forgot to flame all those idiots from Austin! All those Longhorn lovin', State Capital watchin', Exercise all the time, escape to the hill country Austinites! Don't you just hate 'em? LOL!

i just spent a week at the reef club.the food is not very good, but i survived.thank goodness they served ham at every meal,it was the best choice.

Jawfish, how did you like EDDS?

Iberostar is the best. It's one of our favorite AI's.

As for the other dive ops picking you up at their peer, it's not a big deal. Our dive op, Anita Divers, always picks us up at the next peer, a $5 taxi (5 minute drive) down the road at Playa Sol (I think).

Our dive op told us the peer at Iberostar is not deep enough for their big double decker boat. Either that or "It's our private peer and you're not using it." Either way, it was never a problem. We just made plans in advance with Anita Divers.

Just got back from an AI trip at Hotel Cozumel. The food was okay and the wait and bar staff were really nice. I would definitely recommend the outdoor beach restaurant, Girasoles over the indoor place. Also, they had a great Mexican buffet on Fri. or Sat. night with lots of tasty dishes. Breakfast was good as well (when I got up early enough before diving) with make your own omelettes, etc... I would stay and eat there again.

Stayed at Fiesta Americana January / 04,
The best food I've ever had at an all inclusive!
Their nachos, salsa & gaucamole was to die for!
Dive with Martin picked us right up at the pier, & there were rinse tanks & showers right off the pier, & lockers to store your gear.
I'd go back in a heartbeat !!
