Is there anywhere around Bellingham I could get some urchins (preferably red or purple)? Is there any kind of spearfishing there? From what I've read I don't think lings and rockfish are open but maybe perch or something like that. Shoredives would be best. Thanks

I'm not sure what the best place would be, but here's the state catch limits from Statewide Harvest Rules | Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife :

SEA URCHINS
ALL WATERSGREENYear-roundNo min. size. Daily limit 36.
PURPLEYear-roundNo min. size. Daily limit 18.
REDYear-roundNo min. size. Daily limit 18.

From my understanding of urchin habitat, there should be a lot opportunities around Bellingham area. Unfortunate no easy shore access, so you need a boat or kayak or something. Lingcod and greenling should be plenty too, and I think greenling is open year round. Perch is abundant anywhere.
Shoot me a message if you are interested.

Well couple of sites should be accessible from shore, if you can handle a 200 yards hike or surface swim. I know I have no problem.
