Greetings all. I check this site regularly for a variety of tips and whatnot. First time too post. In the spirit of giving something back I thought I would give everyone a tip about diving at San Pedro Ambergris Caye Belize. Was there 2-3 months back and went for some dives. Before jumping in I wanted to rent a tank practice some in the shallow water and check out my gear. I was staying at Ramon's Village which has a dive shop and trips to reef. My brother and I went to rent a tank and the shop operator refused to rent us one . I am A NAUI but my brother being a new PADI wasn't sure, but believed if the PADI flag is flying high by laws say rent them a tank. We went down the shore and rented one with no problems. If the guy should have rented us a tank it is no reflection on PADI as I am going to train some with PADI for more certifications. I heard some comments the guy did this before. Loved the spot, diving was good, won't stay at Ramon's again.

Welcome to the ScubaBoard! Surprised anyone rented you tanks to shore dive. When we were there several years back the dive shop we were with said there was no shore diving allowed! Only place to snorkel was around eramon's pier which wasn't thqt great at all...Guess they want the boat money.....?????

Had nothing to do with PADI or NAUI. That operation simply didn't want to rent tanks to you...

My post was aimed at 1 individual who refused me a tank by lying, even though I was paying $500+ per night to stay at the facility where he was a clerk, and was his job to accommodate me whatever, this is not open to silly remarks or debate. Ocean one are you affiliated with the above organization? I see you are in that area from time to time. This site is 1 of millions, silence is not what the world wide web is all about. Abe Lincoln is dead and likewise the past and all it antiquated and obsolete cliches. The only ignorant person I can see here is you. Take your head out of your posterior and show some respect since courteous correspondence has escaped your neglected upbringing and limited understanding. You may rate in you own eyes but all I hear is a lot of noise that smells of a "bad attitude". This world is but 1's and 0's and your grasp of this simple truth has left you without. It matters little to me where I find subversives out to undermine the free speech or productive pursuits of other, be it from a lying little man in a small 3rd world shop or from one on the internet trying to pretend his influence and status supersedes all but those within his group. You sir are a weak minded and egocentric lackey. Thinking like yours is obsolete. No longer will this world be held back by the likes of small minded, servile followers such as yourself who meander about along the low road. I will not be silent!
