Dear SBers,
Anyone planning on coming to Belize or trying to contact any resort here: Our phone company has not been functioning since Friday. You can contact some cell phones or satellite Internet and email connections. BTL email addresses are out of action. Don't let this deter your vacation plans. Just think. No one can bother you while you're here. We're not sure when service will resume. No worries. Hank

Has the news of the civil unrest in Belize City hit the US news yet? There was rioting the last few nights and things were getting out of hand. I hear there's a travel advisory issued now too. All our phones are out and our repeaters in the mountains have overheated so we aren't getting the news fast here in the south. It's probably all overblown. Are they telling anyone with reservations to not come? If so, never mind them unless you'd planned to go to Belize City.
