Hi,
Just signed up. Got YMCA Open Water certified by the New York State Police in 1988 and enjoyed about 12 years of recreational diving. Mostly to Virgin Gorda on vacation and a few local freshwater spots with friends for fun. My wife got PADI trained in 2000 but when it came time for the Open Water Dive requirements, conditions were so rough for so long, she just kind of hung it up. Never completed the certification requirements.

I'll take a refresher course next week and head to Virgin Gorda again this February with my 13 year old son who is interested in the sport, but is on chemo for a brain tumor. His Docs won't let him take the course until he's done. So I'll do a lot of snorkeling with him on Virgin Gorda and he's totally fine with it. We'll also go out on a couple boat dives and he looks forward to swimming and snorkeling with the dive group.

I'm glad to find this resource where I can surf around and read info and experiences or ask questions about sites in the BVI's.

Cheers,
- Art
