Hello guys,

I am finally interested in buying a BCD. I am sort of tired of diving with rentals that don't fit well. I am big guy and well, I love diving. I am in relatively good physical shape with normal workouts and playing sports but still too big. Every time I walk into my LSD the guy asks me if I play football. Anyways, I have an opportunity to buy a brand new Zeagle Tech 10 BC at a really good price. Less than $450.00. I tried it on and it fit nicely but I have some concerns and I am hopping to get some guidance or opinions. Mind you, I am hoping I can try it in the pool prior to handing over the greenbacks but with that said, here you go.

Concerns for not buying and getting something else.
- Discontinued
- Back Inflate (cant recall ever diving with a back inflate but most places I read it says it pushes your face down)
- Should I get the Ranger instead? not sure I can get the same deal though.

Anyways, I hope to get some feedback.

for 450 dollars, i would get a dss bpw instead. other options are to get a used bpw in good shape or the DRIS/DGX budget bpw for less money

you could also find a used back inflate or a used zeagle bc for less money.

if you're big, you don't say in which direction. Deep Sea Supply makes both the Large pattern and Long pattern plates. Sounds like Large pattern may be your best bet. Will be closer to $500, but much better product.

Discontinued-not a concern since it's still made
Back inflate-it's a back inflate due to being a wing, but if it pushes you face down, you are overweighted, and overinflating the wing. This is a rumour founded on bad dive practices and they work just fine at the surface
Ranger-no, get the BP/W, much better investment. Call Tobin, he will help guide you. Link and phone number in my signature

The only downside to a Tech10 is that it comes with a 65lb. wing standard which is way too much for single tank use.

It's a PFS BCD so they can probably swap a smaller wing. If they can hold the price doing that becomes the question.
