so does anyone have any sugestions? by belly is curently around 55 inches .... i was ondering if anyone has exp with a bc that fits larger men? i know the sizes go up to fit me ... but which provide the most comfort?

When I started diving I was a 62 incher a scuba pro light hawk in xxl fit just fine. It is a like a BPW cross with a BCD. It is a back inflation bcd that is very similar to a back plate and wing. This would be a good choice if you want a BCD however I would recommend a BPW for you and it is what I have just purchased although I dive and like both of them The plate allows me more options
 
Backplate and Wing (BP/W). As you lose weight you can just keep trimming it down.

I'm pretty big. Definitely backplate & wing, see DiveRite, OMS, Halcyon, etc.. OMS also has IQ Pack, which you can use with or without a BP. I've used and liked both. Once used a jacket log ago, but once I tried a backplate rig, I got rid of them.
Nothing else will fit as well.
