Does anyone tryed 14500 rechargeable Cells on a predator, instead of saft? How does it go? Mine is used as a monitor for a sidewinder

And for the Perdix?

Regards

I’m not 100% certain on which batteries the Predator can use, but if they are compatible, the 14500s are a good choice. That’s what I use in my Perdix. First thing I did when I got it was pull out the alkaline and install the 14500. I don’t trust alkalines. Especially not in an expensive computer.

I have 4 14500s. I keep two at home, and bring two with me (one in the computer, and another in the bag), but that’s probably overkill, as they last pretty long. Plus, they are compatible with the “Fuel Gauge” feature, so it’s easy to see exactly how much battery life is left.

The Predator is not a battery omnivore like the Perdix / Petrel. Stick with saft for that computer.

Not even the 14500 3,7 volts?

they work fine with 14500's. Stay away from saft, too much risk of fakes out there these days and the 14500's use the same charger as your 18650's for lights.

The biggest weakness of the Predator is it's handling of batteries. It has problems reading the charge level even of Saft cells accurately and can give false low batt readings. I would not trust it with a non-spec'ed battery.
