I'm a Fish!
I recently acquired a Halcyon 18w HID and the battery pack seems to have seen better days. I can get it to charge but it doesn't hold a good charge and goes out after only 45 minutes or so. If the charge is fresh I can get a couple hours out of it, but if the light sits around for a few days before use the charge lasts much less. This tells me the battery is shot.

My question is: Is there any company that makes after market batteries or maybe can rebuild the battery. I want to get the light working but at the same time don't want to have to get a second on my house just to get a new battery for it.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Battery Store/TNR Technical your Extreme Batteries Source will sell you a new one.
I got one earlier this year for $186 I think
I dont think many people will try to rebuild a battery pack.
You probably have to call tnr and tell them what you want, but they should have it.

From my understanding, the batts inherently lose some charge over a few days, so it is definitely best to charge it the night before you dive.

Also, if you leave the battery hooked up to the light ballast, it will (I think) suck more power out, so only hook it up before you dive.

Also, the halcyon packs are assembled in such a way that there are two 4.5Ah packs joined together. However, the charger only charges on pack directly and charge "flows" through to the other pack. This is not very reliable, and can result in a pack that only charges 1/2 way (2 hrs burntime not 4)

My battery quest ended here: Linky

Had Hawk replace two of mine several years ago. Still getting 4 hours off of them.

TNR rox.

I called the guy that gave me the light and he mentioned TNR and Hawk and another guy named Robert. He said they were great. I'm going to call them Monday and get what I need.
I'm going to be on the Peace out of Ventura on December 1-2 with the Sea Divers and I want my light up and running for that trip.

Thanks guys

Eric
