Hello,

I’m in Grand Cayman with my 20D and DS125 in the Ikelite housing.

After 9 or 10 shots underwater I am no longer able to operate the camera. Nothing happens when any of the buttons are pressed. However, the LCD panel stays lit and the number of shots remaining is flashing even if I turn the power switch to off. Back on land it will return to normal once I take out the battery and put it back in. On and with 3 different cards and 3 different batteries and I cannot reproduce the problem which has happened under water twice now.

Any thoughts?

Michael

Could the housing be pushing multiple buttons at once, causing it to go haywire?

How deep were you, on an old olympus camera housing I once had, when I drropped below 70ft, a button sometimes stuck due to the housing being slightly distorted due to the pressure. This would cause the camera to stop functioning. At teh surface, the pressure is eased and the camera and housing worked perfectly.

Ikelite's are generally better made than the olympus housing, but is worth checking out.

Take care,
John

I got error 99 when this happened to me....turned out the battery was not charging properly and was low.
