A friend of mine has an UWATEC Aladin Sport that needs batteries. Does anyone here please know if the batteries are user replaceable or if it is something that is so out of date that isn't worth changing?

I am not familiar with the product and need more information to be able to give best advice to my friend. I appreciate all the help please.

The battery is user replaceable only if you are mechanically inclined and have a soldering iron. And some extra oil.

A little google searching should find diy videos.

Out of date? About the only downside is that it is air only, no nitrox support.

If the straps are in good shape there is no need to toss it. You can always try to sell it on eBay. Worth about $25US with dead battery, $100 plus with a fresh battery change?

I still use one as a backup computer.

Not exactly the same as the OP, but the process will probably be similar:

Same procedure.
Plenty of posts on the topic in SB.
Not at all difficult but you DO need a bit of liquid paraffin oil to top up those lost during the process.
No luck required!!!!!!!
