"batik" tube worm?

On a recent dive in Anilao, Philippines, we came across this "batik" like thing wrapping around what looks to me like a tube worm. The intricate pattern and colour of this really stands out and I have no idea what it is. Somehow it just does not look like it belongs underwater.

It was a day dive and I believe at a depth of no deeper than 18 meter (60 feet). Unfortunately I can't remember which dive site it was. The water temperature was around 28 C (82 F). The length of this is about 200-250mm (8-10").

I hope someone can help me to ID this. Thanks.
