I plan on taking a family vacation to Barbados from May 21-29. I really enjoyed hearing all about UtahGetMe2's trip thanks for all the tips and info:D. My father and I are fairly experienced divers and hope to go on at least 8 dives while we are there. However we will also be bringing people of varying levels of experience and would like to spend some dives with them as well.

1. What dive operations would you recommend?

2. Do you recommend reservations for diving before we get there?

3. What dive sites should we definitely not miss?

4. Any other activities that we have to do during our stay?

5. What is the average cost of meals in Barbados?

1. I always recommend Barbados Blue
2. Not necessary but you can just go to BB website and send an email so they are expecting you.
3. Friar's Craig/Lobster reef has been very pretty this year, The Stav is a must dive. I love Carlisle Bay marine parks five wrecks, Shark bank, The Fork, Pine Shallows (Haroon's Deep), Castle bank are all deeper outer reefs and very nice. The Boot most always has lots of turtles,
4. Go to the drive-in theatre for a double feature, get a gap burger at St. Lawrence gap street vendor, take in a polo match, go to Oistens for Friday night fish fry, spend a Saturday walking around Spieghtstown and check out the art galleries, snorkel with turtles, hang out at the Crane beach it has sand like talcum powder, go for a fish cutter at Cuz's just off Pebbles beach, Take surfing lessons at Zeds or Dead or Dreads surf shops, go to Crystal Waters for BBQ and dancing on Sunday afternoon, check out horse racing an a Saturday at the Garrison, rent a car for a day and drive around the whole island stopping for a picnic at Bathsheba, Foul Bay or Cattle wash to watch bigger waves on the east coast, walk through Flower Forrest, see Harrison Cave, Night life is available but I am not a drinker so I have no advise on where to go for drunken debauchery.
5. At Oistens you will get a big fish meal for ten to fifteen US$, Cuz's best fish cutters on the island four bucks US$ will get you a sandwich and a soda, for the most part you will pay about the same as in the us for most other meals including Chefette which is their fast food burger and chicken place. KFC and Subway are here as well.
