Hi all,

I'm planning my next dive trip, which is about the end of May, but can only afford only 5 days. I'm thinking Bali, but I'm wondering how's the diving there at that time and what's the water temperature like.

Will I get to see the Sunfish/Manta at that time? If not, when is the best season for that?

Also, from the information that I have come across, it seems to me that most people go to only a portion of the the dive sites of Bali because of distance. So, I'm just wondering which are the must-dive sites?

Cheers,

I will recommend to do safari dive. In this way, you don;t have to worry about accomodation and your dive. Everything will be arranged for you.

There are several place that you can go with, if you need any recommendation just let me know.

safari dive ~ you mean an liveaboard? Do they offer 5-day liveaboard?
If you have suggestions, please let me know. I'm open to all suggestions.

By the way, what will I get to see in end May/mid June and how is the water temperature then?

THanks in advance.

No, it's not a liveaboard.

Safari dive is basically you will dive in the different location each day and will move from resort/hotel to resort/hotel. This safari will cover the whole island of Bali. Depend on how many days you want to go, between 3 to 7 days. If you want to contact Bali Scuba, just let them know Indonesian Diver from Canada sends you there. They will take care of you ;)

What you'll see, I really can't say anything here. All it depends on the dive site and what time. My suggestion is to talk to the local dive shop and let them know what do you want to see. They will be able to give you an options.

As far as the water temp, you will looking at around mid 80s to mid 90s.

Have fun!

Hello Chocolate!

We go to Bali every June, and have found the water temps to be in the mid 70s-low 80s. We were really suprised to feel how nippy the water could be at times! The colder water currents bring in the dry season in Indonesia, and May-June is when the colder water starts moving in. During the wet season, the water will be warmer, but of course it's rainy then, and steamy, which is why we prefer to go in mid June to mid July.
