We stayed at the Grand Palladium White Sand and wanted to do some diving. We did not dive with the resort dive shop as I had read some negative reports, plus they time your dives. While there, we overheard some divers that had dived the resort dive shop, and they were not happy with their dives.
I had contacted Bahia Divers from Canada, and received quick replies to my emails, and from the few reports I found on Bahia divers, they were all positive, so we took a chance on them.
They picked us up at the resort which was a bonus.
It is a very small dive operation. They will only take out 6 max on the boat. They are all very safety conscience. The only drawback was that the boat had no ladder for re entry. You either got yourself into the boat, or you are hauled out of the water.
The dive briefs were very detailed, and safety is mentioned several times. The Dive Master/instructor that we had was a blast. Very personable.
We did 2 days of diving, 2 tanks each day. The one day we came back to the shop, the other day we did our SIT time in the boat. Water and cookies are provided for snacks.
Turtles were seen on every dive and lots of fish. The coral seemed healthy though in a few spots, bleaching. We saw on one day 4 lion fish, not good.
I would strongly recommend this dive op if you are in the area, they very professional, fun, and a great group of people.
