I know this has been postponed a few times already but looks like it may actually be getting built this time.

It may open a few more flights into the area but west of Tuluum is not much, if any closer to the Playa Del Carmen ferry pier than is the Cancun airport

Its purpose is probly to funnel more into Akumal, I think. Hate to see them pave over more jungle really.
