Has anyone tried the new BackscatterXterminator (BSXT) software to automatically remove backscatter from images? I mostly shoot wide angle in sometimes low visibility so this is of interest.

I saw Erin demo it during the Monterey Shootout, and it seemed quite solid and working as advertised. Really impressive!Has anyone tried the new BackscatterXterminator (BSXT) software to automatically remove backscatter from images? You're not wrong, but on a deep offshore tech dive with like a 25 minute bottom time while riding a scooter in strong currents and staying with your buddy you don't always have luxury of applying proper technique. Sometimes you can only hit the shutter for a quick snapshot and keep moving. That's the reality of UW photography for some of us.It is very possible to take wide angle photos in low-vis conditions without creating tons of backscatter. It just takes practice, technique, and careful control of your strobes.
Is it ok if I hate this idea and crap all over it? Remove the backscatter and add some dolphins or something. Maybe just ask ChatGPT to generate a better picture that you are capable of taking.

Sounds like you need a GoPro.You're not wrong, but on a deep offshore tech dive with like a 25 minute bottom time while riding a scooter in strong currents and staying with your buddy you don't always have luxury of applying proper technique. Some of my buddies use them but I'm not really interested in shooting video and the colors on still captures look terrible.Sounds like you need a GoPro.
