Hello there!

Really interested in this lens + mount
But did not find any reviews or real use experiences.

My concern is about the distance from lens to GoPro, being the same lens from AOI
This is Due to the added red filter placed in the lens mount.

For sure something will be different

What do you think?

Backscatter GoPro Action Cam Sharp Wide Lens Pro

My understanding is that the UWL-03 (Sharp Wide Lens) is a "water contact optic." The design likely requires water for the lens to focus. Backscatters filters probably have similar optical properties to water. I can let you know in a few weeks when I use one.

Granted, this is from backscatter, but the video looked awesome and I trust them.

I had in the past Aoi wide lens for GoPro, that’s why I’m wondering about the space between GoPro case and the wide angle lens.

In the AOI version there is no space, but in. This Backscatter something like 3 mm high.
This space will be filled by water or by the filter.

For sure the result will be different from aoi

Physics Is Physics

Hope you got my point.

Just back from the Maldives. The red filter doesn’t make a difference in terms of focal length. I did find that I took almost all of the clips 30cm or less from whether I was shooting.
