I am about ready to invest in a backplate/wing setup and in doing research notice that some manufacturers seem to offer only 1 size of backplate whilst others have 3+. Are there any standard practices for sizing a backplate? Any do's or don'ts or particular tips you would suggest?

If you are petite and always buy small, then the small backplate is for you. If you have to shop the tall shop then a long backplate should fit you better, but if you are average like most, the standard size will work. So, 5'6" (short), 6'4"+ (long), everything else (standard).

I feel the same way.....if you get a chance, take a look at www.hammerheadscuba.com and give them a call. They are super nice and can help you with any questions you have about backplates.
