Sadly, I'm back in Michigan after a great week in Grand Cayman. I spent time on the West and North Walls, as well as a one-on-one guided tour of the Kittiwake.

The wall dives allowed me to log my first significant dive time below 110', and the one-on-one tour of the Kittiwake by a local dive leader gave me my first taste of wreck penetration and crawling around in tight spaces. Just a super time - simply fantastic !! The weather was awesome, visibility at depth was 100' plus, and everything worked as it should have. I've posted some photos of my West Wall dive - hopefully they transferred over correctly.

I have my Rescue diver course in a few weeks to look forward to as I works towards my instructor cert. I'll do some Michigan diving this summer, already planning a trip to Gilboa, and maybe Tobermory, Ontario too.

As for Grand Cayman, I hope to see you again next year.

Excellent, GC is a beautiful place to start your dive trips.
I know what Mich. is like right now, the weather isn't the best but the memories from Cayman will linger. Here's a photo of a dive boat taken from Rum Point looking toward the North Wall, don't you just crave to see what is below the surface.

Flying out Saturday morning myself! Absolutely cannot wait as this is my first trip to Grand Cayman and the first time I've gotten to dive since early September.

If you have any tips or advice on things to do or see shoot them my way! Glad the diving was awesome! I'm diving the Kittiwake on Tuesday with Ocean Frontiers. Not one on one (which is really cool by the way) but very much looking forward to it.

Cayman is a great place to dive. This was our fourth trip to Grand Cayman for my wife and I, but only my second visit to the Island as a diver. So much more to see & I'm looking forward to many more return visits.

I really like your photo. I took a very similar one last week. Please see below. I took this during our surface interval after our dive on the North Wall. Our captain took us over by the Stingray City sandbar - to get out of the waves. One of the divers on our boat was getting a little green around the gills from the wave action.

Good for you, War Eagle - I wish I was going back there myself ! Grand Cayman is a great vacation destination - not only for the diving - but their weather is great - you have many many options for dining & my wife and I have always felt safe there.

There are so many great places to dive there. Find a dive shop you trust (sounds like you already have), let them know what you want to do/see underwater, and trust them to help you find those things. I really enjoyed diving on the West and North Walls.

My personally guided tour of all five decks of the Kittiwake was definately the way to go. The young lady who led me through the ship took me into spaces that I would have never gone into on my own. For me, it was the way to go !!

Enjoy & write back of your adventures.

The Cayman Islands is my favorite place to dive. If you get tired of scheduling your day around the boat calendar hire a DM to show you around at all the shore dives. We've almost completely switched from boat dives to shore dives. More relaxing, on our schedule, we plan and execute the dives we want, not what the crowd wants. I'm glad you had a great trip! :D

Nice shot Master Diver UJ, I thought I'd fix up your photo a bit, that arm or leg is quite distracting and I straightened up the horizon line too.

Thanks for fixing up my picture. That appendage in the upper left hand corner of the picture was my finger. I took the photo with my cell phone - it takes great pictures, but it's small and sometimes I catch my finger hovering over the lense. Oh well, if that's the worst thing that happened all vacation, I've no worries....

Thanks again !
