Sea Women of Melanesia Program – October 2019 – Solomon Islands

I recently returned from the Sea Women of Melanesia Program run in Papua New Guinea, in collaboration with The Coral Sea Foundation & the Conflict Islands Conservation Initiative. This program was awesome to attend. We saw the Women grow in confidence, learning to dive & then move into marine survey techniques. The knowledge they gained allowed them to be comfortable in the water and skills to speak to their communities about marine conservation.

A new program is offered from the 26 October to the 09 November 2019, in the Solomon Islands. The ladies will complete a 14-day program, from learn to dive, through to marine survey techniques. Your support will mean funding can go towards their attendance on the course.

You can choose either a seven- or 14-night supporter package, stay in a twin share cottage at Agnes Gateway Hotel, Munda, all meals & two boat dives per day.

The diving around Munda is excellent with great coral coverage, fish life & WWII Wrecks.

You can offer support and learn marine survey techniques as well if you wish, you decide. Just being there, meeting the ladies and offering continued support is great for the ladies and you will find it rewarding.
