I would really like to start a trend towards people using a current photo of themselves as their Avatar.

I really like to see what the people I am communicating with look like.

Oh and I don't mean a photo of themselves underwater covered with dive gear...

Julie

PS if not as an avatar at least one in your Bio...

...out of the water.

justin-branam:

Obviously using too high an O2 content in your bottom mix.

This phenomonon is commonly called Great Gazoo syndrome and is rare in most divers but prevailant in ones with very High PO2 thresholds. This affliction will eventually lead to the rest of the subjects body morphing into a slightly larger version of this classic flinstones character.

The term CONVENTID a common acronym describing the symptoms of CNS Oxygen toxicity originally was spelled GONVENTED with the final effects not actually being convultions but sadly Gazooism .

Unfortunately recompression treatment has not been an effective treatment for this disorder and according to DAN only limited succes has been obtained through the use of DIR fundemental training and shock therepy.

Best wishes to you Justin, I can only hope it abates before you reach the final effects shown in the attached photo of a former dive buddy of mine .

I completely agree I prefer to see who I am communicating with as well. Posting a photo in the Profile area is easy and I would urge eveyone to put one there if not use one for their avatar.

I have a profile pic you can't make me get rid of....
