For those of you who venture down to Catalina to dive, please make a stop at the Avalon Dive History exhibit in the Casino building right next to the dive park. Diver and submersible pilot Jon Council has done a wonderful job of gathering and displaying early dive gear and images of dive legends. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of diving history (and some of the gear I used back in the 60s!).

I agree! Talking with Jon the several times I've been there has always been fun, engaging and very educational. As Dr. Bill said, if you're there, go have a visit. You will leave knowing so much more than you did going in!

Just finished watching the Sea Hunt episode, "The Stunt," where Mike Nelson and an obnoxious publicity hound raced from the mainland to Catalina with their Porta-Subs. Great to see that one of them is still there.
