Well haven't had one of these threads for a while so I figured I'd make one for May for people to post their stories :)

In Melbourne the water is getting colder and is now down to 13-14C in the North but still 16 outside the heads or south in the bay... So got back in my drysuit at the start of May :)
We've had good conditions, great viz and pretty calm too!

I've done a bunch of shore dives mostly but am out on the boat this Saturday to dive the J4 Sub and a wall dive for my dive club day. Here are some photos:

Well I had two great dives under Mornington pier yesterday with my buddy and for the first time I have a couple of pictures on-a-counta I finally found a housing for my old Canon.

Despite it being really choppy on the surface, it was really nice underneath. We decided that the easterly wind was rolling over the cliffs (right of pic) and chopping it up, but the viz looked clear so we gave it a go.

Phil before the 2nd dive.

I snapped away at everything using as many settings as I could, I haven't used the camera for a while so I'm going to have to re-familiarise myself. I thought the pics weren't turning out that good, but a quick 'auto levels' adjustment in PS and I was surprised how many keepers I got!!

I have a new appreciation for underwater photographers now, those pesky fish just don't stay still!

Ahh, here's an easy target!

I've dived here 10 times now, this was the first time during the day. It's a whole different world in the day! And...so many fish!! The hula fish were so thick in spots they reminded me of the flies when I lived at Ayers Rock!

After 75 mins of working faultlessly, I noticed a droplett inside the housing and some condensation starting to form. I think this drop seeped in through the shutter button o-ring, so I need to do something there. Problem is Canon no longer stock the o-rings and matching them at the o-ring supplier is easier said than done!

Some more pics here.

I now need to read through Alcina's thread to get some good tips.

Cool pics burna, great to have another photographer posting for Melb :) (p.s I know I still owe you some videos but I am so lazy with those, I owe Michael some for like, six months ago)

Here are some pics from the other night at South Road where we had 15m+ of viz on our night dive!!!

And here is from some dives on the weekend, we dived J4 Submarine and a Lonsdale Wall dive. The bay was flat as and calm underneath with about 10m viz.

Great shots folks.. can't wait to get back at it!

Helmut at RENSEAL in Dandenong is a diver. Take your sample o rings they are far happier if you have the sizes and some loose change, dirt cheap and you may even become tempted to service your own stuff. All my regs and tanks are EPDM, oxygen ready even the 100% stages, shhhh. EPDM doesn't deteriorate like those yucky brown ones.

I got in only one dive this weekend as I had to head to Phillip Island. We dived a new dive site Middle Brighton Pier. It was a fairly average dive site around the breakwater but the viz was very good (15m) and it was calm so I had a nice time. Spent nearly two hours underwater.

Good viz
