Hello

Looking forward to stories and pics from people this month! Though it is getting a little chilly out :cold:

I got out for a night dive last night and the conditions were spectacular. The wind has been zero for the last few days so the water was like glass and we had at least 12m of viz! Underneath was just so calm. This site that we went to is quite exposed (called 'South Road Bommie') so often there is surge even in calm conditions. The wind is again calm tonight so I am going to make the most of it and dive again :)

Here are some pictures that I got:
An anemone - I love this picture, I took about 20 shots of anemones and they were all crap, but I think I did alright with this one :)

Tiny goby, surprised my camera was able to get a shot of it

Decorated crab, there were tonnes of these! I always think of them as 'Gille Suit Crabs'

Thanks :)

I got out for another dive last night, to the same spot (it is such an easy site, 20mins from home, walk 50m out from the beach :)) Though, I had to wear my wetsuit :shocked2: Last night when I was cleaning my drysuit it got wet inside, and was still soaking when I got home so I decided to pull out my semidry. Anyway, I was not too bad, we did 85mins and I only got cold in the last 10mins. When I exited I couldn't feel my feet anymore! Temp was 13C.

Here are some pictures I got:

Love your shots Sas. We got out for a dive yesterday. had to come back a bit early because someone who shall remain nameless leaned on her occy a few too many times trying to get shots of the Eastern Blue Devil way back under the ledge.... purging occy does bad things to the viz and wastes Air too:shakehead:

Anyway we got in 87 minutes... the thermoclines were weird. The deeper you went ... the warmer it got!:shocked2: shallow.... 18C deep up to 20C :dontknow: go figure

I kinda like this shot of my favourite "fish" you can see the viz was pretty good.. certainly by comparison to what we have been getting. Still lots of sediment in the water.

WE went on a bit of an exploration up on the ledge... did a great big circle and saw some interesting terrain. Sometimes I think we need to step off the beaten path.... a few meters and it is a whole new experience!

We only found 2 of the seahorses and as you can see one is pregnant again. This octopus was quite small. Fish found this Eastern Blue Devil in a new area so I suspect it is a different one from the ones we have been seeing. They are so secretive it is hard to get any decent shots of them... *sigh* one day!

Denis found 3 anenome fish without their anenome... what an unusual find. None of my shots turned out worth posting but I got a bit of video grab

Its been such shocking conditions out and about that I doubt that I will get to go diving again before we head off to Vanuatu. Has anyone been there? We're going to Espiritus Santo. 9 Days. I have never been overseas before so this is really exciting. I have heaps of questions an no one to really ask.

Hi Stormy ...

Yes I went to Vanuatu 17 years ago OMG, dived a number of places in Villa harbour and of course dived the Coolidge, dont know how much I remember or if it will still be relevant, but ask away!

I want to dive the Coolidge one day..... :crying2:

Cool shots petunia! I am going out tomorrow, I did not dive yesterday as I was quite sick - a migraine! Have not had one for well over a year. So anyway, just 1 out of 3 day weekend for me now :( But hope to get three in tomorrow :) Or two at the least :D
