Hi everybody! I am so glad to have found this diving website :)

I am currently planning a trip to Australia in first 2 weeks of August. Would really want to do some diving in Cairns.

But it's winter in Australia will it be too cold? I am a tropical diver and I don't think I can stand being in cold water without panic attack. Can you please let me know the condition & temperature at that time of the year?

Thanks a lot! ;)

Cairns will still be in the 70s and 80s in the winter, it can be very nice. The water temp will be in the 70s. We experienced 82 at Osprey reef a ways north of Cairns and at the coldest 77 off Port Douglas...Steves Bommie and Agincourt reefs.

Welcome to the board!
