Hey, All!

There's a new board that started up not too long ago that's affiliated with ScubaBoard but dedicated to parenting - even non-diving parenting! ;) www.mommies2mommies.com is the link.

For those of you involved in child-rearing or contemplating the possibility, please stop by and check it out. Get yourself signed up and post away. The more the merrier so please pass the word along to everyone you know who may be interested. We'd love to get some professionals such as ob-gyns, pediatricians, midwives, nutrionists, chiropractors, doulas as well.

We look forward to seeing you there! Thanks so much!!

Attention all moms! ?????????

What about Dads? What about our efforts to raise our kids? Let's see, they have:
The Art of Parenting:
mommies2be
new mommies
moms2multiples...

At least they have a 'Dad's Corner'. But come on, where I come from, the Dad plays just as big a part in the family as Mom. Other than that gripe, it looks cool, will have to have a closer look.

Cheers,
Bill.

Bill,

The reason there is so much for mommies is that in general they make up the largest percentage of homemakers and well.. if you look at the list of Forums you listed, they are the ones who have the most questions of these challenges. However, just as the womes forums are on here, we are not going to stop men from posting in any of the forums if they so choose.

If there appears to be interest by dads for more of an area, I will be more than happy to oblige that. :)

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me, NetDoc, KBulla or Scuba_Jenny and we'll be happy to answer your questions. Mommies.. this site is for you! :)

a neat idea might be a companion site dads2dads, or maybe change the name of this site to parents2parents and make it more inclusive to dads as well...

after all, the more people who use the site, the bigger it will be!

GREAT IDEA

Some stuff that is a possible future works, well see what takes off or grows there... for now I'm running my wifes suggestion of having a place for mommies to hook up online with other mommies to share their experiences, tips and tricks, and information. She showed me a handfull of sites that had "mommy" forums and...well.. I could see her desire to have a forum like what we have here. They were freestyle, unmoderated, uncontrolled, most were chronological posted forums that were not really good to read or find info on. :)

As a stay-at-home dad for the last 8 years, I get kind of ticked when I see all the 'parenting' issues directed at 'mothers only'. When we had kids, we agreed that one of us would always be home so we would not put ourkids in daycare.
For the first two years, we were both home with our own businesses. Then my wife got back into the 'corporate' world so I stayed home, cook, clean, laundry, shopping, etc.

I know it is probably meant in a harmless manner, but it is still a bit offensive.
