The SS1 is beautifully engineered. It comes with a 28 inch hose. I need to switch it to a 22. The quick release coupler is not comparable with other hoses. Is there an adapter available?

The ScubaPro air 2 is the same QD. ScubaPro makes a QD that fits on the end of a LP hose, and you can get an LP hose in any length. That QD is found here.

Thanks Wookie... Another problem solved. Putting my order in now.

Hi All...Thanks for the post and the help. The Air 2 QD should work just fine. However, on occasion the tolerance is just off slightly and will not fit. We can custom make a 22" hose and we do sell our QD as well to add to a standard regulator hose. The part number for the QD for the SS1 is 14-0050-3P (This is for the Stainless Version). Thank you!!

(Sorry) <kicks sneaker toe in sand> I didn't know.

The SS1 fitting is either 316 stainless or titainum; not sure what the SP fitting is, but probably chromed brass. I'd give Atomic a call and see about getting a 22" SS1 hose if that's your thing...why sacrifice quality?

However, I'd be really sure that 22" is enough scope for the SS1 to work as an octo. I used to use one on my Zeagle and while I didn't like the extra hose length, 22" would have been way too short for me.

Some good solutions offered but let me toss one more into the ocean. As noted the QD can be removed from the hose (a nice feature if the hose blows). The hose is a regular LP hose with a connection for second stage regulators. Remove the current QD and visit your local shop that has second stage hoses in different lengths. Take your kit with you and try some different lengths in the pool. You might think the 22" is the right length until you get in to the water. In that case you can play Goldilocks and try a different length until you get the right one.
