I am thinking of purchasing the Atomic B2 reg, anyone have anyting good or bad to say about it??

Thx

You'll never, never regret it.

I have a T1X and everytime I swap regs with somebody that wants to try it I can't wait to get it back... With most of the other regs I've tried it seems that you have to "suck" the air out of them compared to the Atomics, and on a few others once the air started coming it "rushed/pushed" the air into your mouth.. I will not name the other regs I've tried because I'm not into bashing certain makes/models but if you demo some regs from people you will see what I mean..

The Atomics all breath almost exactly the same so I'd have to say go for the B2... Also, I tend to do a lot of strange orientations such as upside-down, on my head to look under a ledge down in a crevice, etc and it always breaths dry..

The only complaint I have ever heard about an Atomics reg is that it is a little bit pricey, and its serviceability. Nothing performance related.

An excellent choice. Breathes very easily. Well built. I'm very pleased with it. My only complaint, and it's a very minor one, (actually not really a complaint, more of an observation and tip) is the cleaning process for it. The Atomics have a seat saver feature that holds the valve off the seat when not under pressure. Thus, when cleaning when it's "off" a tank takes a little extra care not to get water in it. Rather than submerging the second stage under water, I just run water over it and into the mouthpiece of the second stage. The first stage is cleaned like all others. If you have it still attached to a tank, then clean as you would with all other regs.

Is the B1/B2 first stage supposed to bubble slowly from the plastic ring with the holes in it? I got mine wet for the first time today and there were very small bubbles coming out. About one bubble every 10 seconds or so.

My friend has the exact same first stage and his doesn't bubble at all.

I'm going to ask my dealer also and get his response.

Thanks,
Andy

Are you sure it's not just air that was in the ambient chamber that was coming out once you got in the water?

Otherwise, it's probably either a bad o-ring or it needs lubrication.
