Hey all, first, I just want to thank everyone for answering all my questions over the past couple of weeks. The people on this board have been a great find!

I've narrowed down my reg choice to one of two options:

Atomic B2
Atomic Z2 with miflex hoses added

The Z2 option will save considerable money and I suspect might actually be more comfortable than the swivel hose on the B2.

Any thoughts?

Both will breathe the same. So its down to the cost difference and the swivel. I would go with the Z2 and Miflex hoses and use the money saved for more gear or a dive trip. I use miflex hoses and no swivel and find it to be very comfortable. Good luck.

Gotta agree, go with the Z2 with Miflex. Save the cash and enjoy.

I had a Miflex hose put on my B2, and they actually had to remove the swivel to do it. Don't miss it at all. I also have a Z2, seems to work just fine...

One thing to consider is the first stage turret swivel, I find that to be quite useful for hose routing. Though some do not. It is standard on the B2 but can be ordered that way from Atomic for the Z2. The other, is consider buying a used B1/Ti2 over hauling it and putting a new color kit on it. When all is said and done you will have a fully functional B2. Especially, if you are putting the milflex on it.

One word with going the used route. If the first stage has doughnut looking rubber cap on top of it that means it has the old style piston which had creep issues. Immediately knock $50 of the asking price to upgrade it to the newer piston.

You will be extremely happy with any Atomic Regulator! You just have to weigh out Features. The nice part with Atomic is that the engineering is all the same in the second stages except for materials and some cosmetics. Other differences between B2 & Z2 are stated above. I personally dive the M1 so I am a fan of the swivel on the Turret on the 1st stage and the other features should be pretty obvious. Your main choice may strictly come down to price point and where you want to be at and that would all be on you.
