Hello!

At my job we have several SeaDoo GTI Sea Scooters. We have had one main issue with our scooters that have suddenly poped up. All the scooters stop working after 3-5 seconds of use almost as if the safety is going on, if you give it a second and hold down the triggers it works again but only for 5 or so seconds before cutting off. The batteries are fully charged (We just bought and replaced all of our batteries) Is there anything that I might be missing? Any help or suggestions would be wonderful.

I live in Bermuda and we do not have anyone on site who can repair SeaDoo Scooters... so this is going to be hands on learning!!

Thank you
Kelly

I know you mentioned the batteries are new but It sounds exactly like a dead battery and being it affected all of them simultaneously it may be the case. Those SLA batteries act just like that-battery dies-wait a little-battery works for a bit more etc. I'd double check those "new" batteries. Even "new" SLA batteries degrade after 3 months of not being charged. It's possible you purchased batteries dead in the box-something to consider anyway.

Thanks Rapid,

I will double check the batteries we have even newer batteries so maybe I will switch them around. Yet my question is that these batteries appeared to be working fine for several days and then (I was off for four days) they seem to have this stop and go problem.. is their a possibility of them being over charged could have caused this situation???

thanks again

No-I think the charger stops when the battery is fully charged. I've left mine plugged in for days with no problem

not sure if you resolved your problem yet, but maybe your charger is dead, or is not charging the batteries. even tho you think they're charged, they're still dead. check the batteries with a multi-meter if you have one and see what the voltage is reading before and after charging.

how do u take apart the dam body lol

Hello
Could you send us your email address, contact details then we I can help you connect with our service supervisor directly. I think that works faster. But a charger issue mentioned by leko916 could be possible. Do you mind performing a voltage reading first and let us know result. Chargers and batteries are easy available in our web shop at SEADOO® SEASCOOTER?. Batteries need to be charged at least every 2-3 months, prior and immediately after every use
to maximize the lifespan of the battery.
