Hi,

I have just signed up for the PADI EAN course. Having read the book it mentioned that Heparin can lower the Oxygen toxicity level.

My question concerns the use of asprin, as this also thins the blood does this also lower the oxygen toxicity level ??

What if you are only taking a Children's dose as preventative medicine? Should I stop taking slightly before diving EAN?

Aspirin does not thin the blood. The effect that aspirin has on the blood is as as anti-platelet. That is, it prevents platelets from sticking together. This inhibits the formation of new clots or the enlargement of existing clots.

Unless there are other factors of which I am unaware, aspirin has no effect on OxTox threshold levels.
