I picked a couple of these neat waterproof maps for myself and my brother. Less than a minute after opening it...I found an error.

The USCGC/USS Bibb is listed as being at a depth of 40'. Every other source that I've found lists it as being ~138' to the sand and a minimum of 70'+ (depends on the source).

The map includes GPS coordinates for all of the major reefs in the area. Are these valid to reference for GPS navigation purposes? I suppose I should have asked that before I bought them.

I won't be trying to dive that one as I don't have an advanced cert. The depth that was listed on the map caught my attention, as it appeared to be doable.

I would never rely on anything but a NOAA chart to navigate with. With that said, I often use the FloridaGoFishing charts for numbers of a place I haven't been to, but personally I like Franco's Maps the best. Home | Franko's Fabulous Maps of Favorite Places! - frankosmaps.com

I agree with you on that. I was more thinking these would be nice for pre-trip planning purposes. At this point, I'm doubting their usefulness for that.

Thank you. I'll check those out.
