Hey Pete. I have been trying to find the link to this post you made to try and book a trip there. The link in your post does not lead to the story you wrote. I was interested in the dive op/boat you used.

The company is Nautilus Explorer - Nautilus Explorer Luxury Scuba Diving Safari Liveaboard Socorro Giant Mantas and Guadalupe Great White Sharks It's the newer of their two boats - the other being the older Explorer. Nautilus Belle Amie – Luxurious Liveaboard Dive with Giant Mantas at Socorro or Cage diving with Great White Sharks of Guadalupe Island.
Other options to the Socorros are also Solmar V or Rocio Del Mar.

There's one more boat going out there but IDK remember the name.
My buddy was on Rocio this past Dec. For big animal encounters that's the place to go.
Book early if you can, it sells out fast. Rocio has 2 spaces left in 2016, just a few starting Jan 2017 and is 1/2 sold out for 2018. The others are similar. All do basically the same itineraries. All those trips leave from the Cabo area. Rocio is out of San Jose del Cabo - IDK about the others.
Mantas, Hammerheads, Dolphins, Sea Lions they usually see weekly. Solmar publishes what they see on every trip somewhere on their website - and has a video channel on Youtube.
