Hello All (Seem like a standard greeting),

The Arizona Disabled Scuba Divers Foundation was just formed in February of 2009 with the desire to have a Nonprofit Orginization to provide Scuba lessons and equipment to the Valley of the Sun Handicapped and Disabled Veterans.

As we get more organized you will start hearing more from us but for now you can direct any disabled folks, in Arizona, that you might know to the azcandive.com web site for contact info.

Thanks

Welcome to the world of non-profits.

The Disabled Veterans SCUBA Project was also started in February 2009 in Long Beach California to help Disabled Veterans.

I say started, we had already taught two classes with another organization (Challenges Foundation) at the VA in West Los Angeles. When their leader retired, they elected to stop SCUBA instruction and encouraged us to form a separate organization while they focus on adaptive sailing, swimming, snorkeling and diving with certified adaptive divers and providing some funding to our efforts.

We are starting a class for paraplegic and quadriplegic divers at the Long Beach CA VA Hospital next week.
