New to drysuits and have only rented suits with socks and separate boots. just picked up an older OS drysuit and not sure if what I have are boots or socks. they have a tread on the sole but are very soft and flexible. I am concerned that my fin straps (spring style) will quickly wear through them. also slightly large. any thoughts from on this would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like boots to me
 
Thank you. was not sure. all of the boots I have worn had hard soles and more rubber in the back. is this how dry suit boots are?
 
not all, there are a bunch of different kinds of boots, this are more similar to turbo soles than real boots. Swapping them for socks is quite easy if you prefer. Most do, since these have no support at all
