As breakfast is important to me before I dive, and I'll be diving with an early dive operator (DWM), I was wondering if there are any really early restaurants out there. I like trying new hotels and am in the decision making process of deciding whether to go to one of the All Inclusives (for that breakfast) or to rent a car for the week and find some early restaurants in town before rushing to the pier by 7:30 AM. I've had the restaurant food on site while staying at El Cid La Ceiba and Casa Del Mar and still made the pier on time, but just thought that I'd try something else for a change. I may consider a totally different kind of hotel if I can find a great early breakfast!

Thanks,
Matt

When we used DWM we stayed at the Hotel Cozumel. We were able to get breakfast on some mornings at 6:30 but most days at 7:00. We were ready to go so all we had to do was eat and go wait for the boat. He would usually get there by 7:45. Pickup times will vary depending on what hotel you stay at. Further south later pick up. I think I have read on this board that there are several places that open early for breakfast Jeannie Waffle house is one, but of course you lose time by taking a cab to get there.

I think Caribe Blue opens there restaurant early since most of the folks at that hotel are divers. You really shouldn't have a problem. Most hotels know divers have to catch a boat and are usually accomodating.

Matt,

My two favorite breakfast spots are Coco's and Rock-n-Java.

Coco's opens at 6:00 and is my favorite. They are located right in the main square between Banamex and the big retail dive shop, Prodive. In case that doesn't ring any bells, they are JUST north, downstairs and across the pedestrian walk from Pasta Prima. They have teal window trim and an awning that is sometimes out and sometimes not. Try the "Super Tacos (scrambled eggs, beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado and cheese in a soft tortilla on the inside and a hard shell taco shell on the outside OR the taquitos, or the moofy, or the fruit and granola is really good as ell as the oatmeal...pancakes, french toast, huevos rancheros...can you tell I'm hungry...haha!

Rock-n-Java opens at 6:30 mst of the time and tehy are located on the main drag just south of the naval base and Dive Paradise's main shop. Excellent omelettes and breakfast specials.

If I think of any others, I'll let you know! Have fun and "provecho!"

I will trade you standing in line there, to standing in line here or waiting for the light to change at the intersection any day of the week... ;) Hope to see you this summer. :07:
