Albeit a waterheater faber 104? I like the idea of having a larger wing if/when I use doubles, but will it be too big and flappy for a single with a STA?

Use a single tank wing for single tank diving, and a doubles wing for doubles.

The move from singles to doubles is expensive. Tanks, manifold, regs, maybe a drysuit etc. The cost of a second wing is a small part.

Trying to make a doulbes wing work for singles will leave you with a poorly performing, hard to vent singles rig.

I see your in SoCal. Feel free to PM me or call me, I'd be happy to walk you through basic gear set up.

I agree with Tobin and would whole-heartedly suggest you take him up on his offer :)

A couple months ago I saw a guy diving a single tank w/ a double tank wing. He had a huge taco on his back that created a lot af drag. He was swimming hard but hardly moving. You will neever need that much lift with singles, so don't use it.

Only reason I ask is there is one on Ebay for cheap. I assumed it was too big, but I figgered I'd ask. I think I'm gonna stick with the OMS single wing I found for about two bills.

Oxycheq is better. If you'd like some inside info. on OMS bladders PM me. X

additionally, if Tobin is willing to walk you through - even better. His gear is pretty darn cool.

Tobin gave me great advice about my wing selection.
I dive with a 1mm and a kydex plate and he suggested a 20lbs wing.
Not only is the wing small enough to pack in my backpack, it provides more than enough lift for a single tank. With it I am newtral in fresh water. I only add 6lbs for salt water with an AL80.
It is very very nice to have such a small wing and thus low drag.

did you buy his wing?
