I have an Intova light with magnetic push button switch as my backup light. I know that it's not recommended to switch a light off or on underwater, but does this apply to magnetic switches, too? With a magnetic switch, wouldn't the housing for the light remain sealed no matter how many times the light is switched?

I don't plan on switching my light unnecessarily, this question is purely academic.

I think that advice applies mostly to incandescent light bulbs, where the current surge as it turns on results in the greatest risk of bulb burn-out.

Our compact LED lights have twist heads with o-rings, and ech time they're turned on or off there's the risk someone will turn it too far or the wrong way. So I keep telling my family to just leave the lights on once they're on.
