Title says it all.

Does the manufacturer test them before shipping them out?

I bought a Puck Pro (which works great and is everything I'm looking for in a computer). After going through the log feature after using it, I noticed the first logged dive was to 55 meters and 50 minutes. Dive was performed 2 months before I bought it. That dive also had an ascent rate that was "uncontrolled".

Do you think that they put the computers in a pressure chamber and test them? Or did someone use the computer once, do a super deep dive, then return it? Either that or someone got bent and never scuba dived again and returned their gear.

Yes, Mares tests every computer and leaves that dive on the log.

I've bought two used Cressi Giotto's and the dive logs look normal, i.e. all the previous dives look like they're from the previous diver, dive date/time and profile.

they only hold the most recent 60 dives, so it is quite possible that the log was full and overwrote the first one

....or with some they can be erased.....

Just morbid curiousity,,,was that log an air to 165 ft for 50 minutes?

It was measured in meters. And I don't remember the exact numbers.

I remember it being something like 57 meters so closer to 190 feet. And like 47 minutes.

Why? Did you return one with the same info on it? Or use one for a deep dive?

That would be a small world coincidence.... Lol
