You're probably already there but...
Hey, I know Mana Island and I live near San Jose too. small world.
I dove with them in 04 during a sailing trip using local dive ops. Mana Island is just a small island in the Mamanucca Islands. I believe it's half resort/half homes. The resort catered mostly to Japanese guests that I saw. At the time I was pretty newly certified but was the most experienced guest. Funny thing was multiple people standing around in their rental suit waiting to board had the fit of a loose jacket. I had to tell them the idea is snug fit when it comes to a wetsuit otherwise it doesn't work!

All very good natured and we've had some of the most fun with Japanese tourists in our travels. I did actually check with them all that out of air was the same in Japanese!

Rental gear could be so-so as one of the guests BC was leaking and they had to abort the dive. As an aside, doing so left their terrified girlfriend behind. I noted that and brought her into our group to buddy up. She ended up having a great dive. Even just certification in Monterey meant that Fiji diving was pretty easy.
The diving was pretty good. We did Gotham City and Supermarket I think. It wasn't the best Fiji diving but it had good stuff. Big morays sticking out the walls and coral heads. One followed us along for a good distance. Sharks. Batfish. Big cabbage coral and the bigeyes in it. Dove off a pontoon style wide boat, though the boilerplate floor was slick when bobbing on the site. Dive guides were good.
We enjoyed it and Fiji people are the friendliest in the world. Give them a big Bula! for me.
