Hello all,
I am curious if anyone has dealt with Aquatica customer service and/or warranty.
I recently ordered a new housing, 8" dome and macro flat port. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I pulled the trigger. I have yet to receive the housing or ports. Is this normal? The dealer I ordered thru said they dont give them tracking numbers. That seams odd as well.
I guess my concern is if it takes over 2 weeks to supply a housing to a new customer how long will it take to handle warranty issues or supply replacment parts?
This is my first housing so I may be overly anxious. maybe this is just normal in the industry.
Thanks,
E

Hi Scuba e.

I recently ordered my Aquatica AD90 through scubapixs (Australian Dealer). They had to order my housing direct from Aquatica as I wanted the Ikelite bulkhead for my Ikelite strobes. The process took less than two weeks and thats including shipping from Canada to the dealer (Australia) and shipping from the Dealer to me.

I personally would be onto your dealer as he can simply email Aquatica and chase them up. Any decent dealer would have a large range of common replacement parts if they are indeed a authorised dealer.

Regards Mark

Ironically, it may be easier to ship from Canada to Australia than it is for Canada to California. The housing is a high enough dollar amount that it may have caught the eye of someone at customs. I think other Canadian manufactures, sch as Whites, have had less than desirable shipping times due to customs. I had an ROV locked in a customs warehouse for a week until they could figure out what it was and whether or not I should pay them a lot of money. So much for NAFTA for the little guy. I had one manufacturer that actually encouraged me to meet him near the border so he could drive the item into the US.

The Aquatica bulkheads are plug and play and swappable with
hand tools. Backscatter converted Adm. Linda's Aquatica D40
housing to dual Nikonos bulkheads in about five minutes while
we waited.

They might have to manufacture the housing as cameras change so much they don't want to be stuck with an obsolete housing when the cameras changes. Ports and extensions they have prebuilt as they don't change much. And i have had packages shipped from usa to canada where i live take three weeks to ship or more. My guess it is slow from canada to the usa also as it does have to go through customs. With the north american free trade agreement items manufactured in the usa or canada should go across the border easier. Great theory but in reality not.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke with the dealer and it sounds like a new batch was just finished. Should be in soon. My dealer does have good supplies so that will make things go quickly in the future. The housing is slower than normal due to inventory levels being low due to slow economy. Fingers crossed for this coming week.
