They are a very reputable operator. We did a bull shark dive over to Playa del Carmen with them a couple of years ago, and they were very safety conscious. Another operator that we always dive with would be great for your OW referral. The name is Careyitos or Advanced Divers. The instructor's name is Simone. Another instructor who works on the boat is Tony Perez. We did our AOW and nitrox course with Tony. He was great and helped us with our air consumption and bouyancy. Another suggestion is Roger with Deep Exposure. Any questions, please email me. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Paul Ellis, a partner with Aquatic Sports has a son that went to my high school here in Texas, and his son referred me to them.

For $180, I can't hardly beat doing my OW dives with them. I just wanted to make sure they are on top of their game with safety, etc. A bonus would be getting a LITTLE reef time during my 4 dives.

Their boat is The Swordfish. It is very comfortable and easy to exit and get back on the boat with the large ladder. It also has shade and a head. Paul is a great person. I do not think you would be sorry if you chose them. They are definitely on top of their game with safety. Enjoy!

Sounds great! I have emailed the shop and Paul to find out more about their referral dives. I'm curious if all 4 are from the beach or if there is any time over a reef from the boat.

I'd MUCH prefer to do my OW dives there in Cozumel instead of a lake here in north Texas with 5' vis!

We did our OW in Bonaire, and with the exception of demonstrating our skills, all of our dives were from the boat. I would think that all of your dives would be off the boat.

If that's the case, I'll definitely be going with them. I crunched the numbers and it would be cheaper to do my classwork/confined stuff here then my 4 referral dives there in Cozumel with Paul than it would be to do all my certification here and pay for 2 days of 2 tank dives when I get to Cozumel.

That and I really have no interest in doing my dives in a lake here.
